The temporal lobe is located at the lateral and inferior aspects of the cerebral hemisphere. Each lobe can be anatomically separated from the other by major cortical sulci or by imperceptible lines that connect anatomical landmarks. It contains the prefrontal areas, farthest in front, which are involved in complex mental processes such as planning and creativity.
